Kevin Durán was born in Alajuela where he grew up with his mother in his early years and later on moved to Guanacaste with his father, who lived and worked most of his life near the ocean, starting with cruises where he traveled the world. 

After some years, Kevin decided to call Tamarindo home.  Sport fishing and maintaining sailing catamarans from very young, Kevin's passion was born for the ocean and all the water activities it has to offer.

Kevin completed his studies in the University of Costa Rica in Liberia, and continued to practice water sports, sailing and working as a captain and guide in different charters.  Due his great experience in the water and excellent personality, Kevin is our first mate at Playgrounds CR.  Kevin says this is a dream come true because he is doing what he loves to do!  We are sure he will make your experience at Playgrounds a very special one as he is not only a great person but an excellent bartender and a really good cook!
